Built from sales.
Wired for technology.

I’m Dan Haefner: a sales professional, lifelong technologist, and hands-on generalist based in Pensacola.

People first. Practical answers. Follow through.

Most of my professional life has centered on sales, restaurant equipment, and the people who keep restaurants operating. I care about understanding what a customer actually needs, communicating clearly, and staying with a problem until there is a useful answer.

I’m continually working to become better at the craft of selling: better product knowledge, better questions, stronger relationships, and a clearer understanding of what creates value for the person on the other side of the conversation.

Good sales is not volume. It is attention, trust, and knowing enough to help.

Not new to technology. Still interested enough to keep learning.

Computers have been part of my life for a long time. I’m comfortable with technical troubleshooting, websites, servers, software, and figuring out how systems fit together. I have a working knowledge of programming and can use code to build, modify, automate, and troubleshoot useful systems.

That foundation now includes practical AI, large language models, agents, automation, and self-hosted tools. I’m not interested in using technology as a costume. I want to know what it can do, where it fails, and whether it makes the real work better.

01.3 // THE REST OF THE MAP

Technology is not a separate life.

It shows up in what I drive, what I build, what I photograph, what I collect, and what I decide to learn next.

01

COMPUTERS

Longstanding technical fluency, troubleshooting, servers, software, and the instinct to look under the hood.

02

PRACTICAL AI

LLMs, agents, and automation used to accomplish real work—not as empty branding.

03

ELECTRIC

Daily experience driving a Tesla Model 3 and a practical interest in where electric vehicles are going.

04

MAKER MODE

Drones, RC systems, robotics, programming, websites, and complicated tools worth understanding.

05

VISUAL

Photography, Pensacola skies, and an earlier chapter building a public-facing photography business.

06

OFF CLOCK

Gaming, collecting, bourbon hunts, precision shooting, travel, and very specific rabbit holes.

DAILY DRIVER // ELECTRIC

A Tesla Model 3, and a front-row seat to changing technology.

I’m a proponent of electric vehicles because I live with one. EVs bring transportation, software, energy, infrastructure, and consumer technology together in a way that is both impressive and still evolving. I’m interested in the potential—and the real trade-offs.

CURRENT OPERATING PRINCIPLE

I learn fast, ask good questions, make systems work, and keep moving toward the next useful thing.
